About This Scheme

The "Scheme of Human Resources Development in Sports- Fellowship Programme" by the Department of Sports, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India. The scheme aims to sporting excellence by modernizing and augmenting the overall sports eco-system, developing a large pool of specialists in sports science, sports medicine, sports technology, sports nutrition, sports physiotherapy, and high-performance coaching, refereeing, and psychology. Under this scheme, fellowships for specialised studies, financial support for participation in and holding of seminars, workshops, clinics, and conferences, assistance for appearing in qualifying examinations and specialised training, research grants, and publication assistance are provided to officials of the Ministry, the Sports Authority of India, National Sports Federations, athletes, coaches, technical officials, students, and researchers. > Scheme Implementation: The scheme is implemented by the Department of Sports in association with its Autonomous Bodies, namely the Sports Authority of India, the Lakshmibai National Institute of Physical Education, the National Dope Testing Laboratory, the National Anti Doping Agency, and the National Sports University. > Components of the Scheme: The scheme will have the following components: (i) Fellowship Programme (ii) Exchange of Knowledge/ Research/ Ideas a) For attending seminars/ workshops/conferences of repute in India or abroad b) For holding training programmes/ seminars/ workshops/ clinics and conferences within the country (iii) Assistance to Match Officials, Coaches and Supporting Personnel (iv) Assistance for Research (v) Publication of Outstanding Works on sports related Subjects

Benefits

Fellowship for advanced and specialised training of short-term (up to 3 to 6 months) and long-term (up to 2 years) modules, workshops, courses, and programmes in India as well as abroad, in sports science disciplines such as Biomechanics, Sports Nutrition, Kinesiology, Anthropometry, Exercise Physiology, Sports Psychology, General Theory and Method of Training, Sports Medicine, Anti-doping, Sports Informatics, Sports Statistics and Sports Modelling, Sports Genetics, Sociology of Sports, Sports Management, and Sports Law.

Employees of the Central Government, State Governments, and Autonomous Bodies of the Department of Sports are assisted as per the Department of Personnel and Training (DoP&T) rates.

Nominations from State and Union Territory Governments may be invited for up to 40 percent of slots.

Up to 4 employees can be granted fellowship in a calendar year for the long-term programme of up to 2 years.

Eligibility

Required Documents

  • Copy of Passport or Other Identification Such as PAN (Permanent Account Number) Card, Driving Licence, or Aadhaar Card.
  • Birth Certificate or Secondary School Certificate Indicating the Date of Birth.
  • Copy of Institution's Admission Letter Along With Relevant Details.
  • No Objection Certificate (NOC) Duly Signed by an Authorised Signatory of the Candidate's Employing Organisation (in case the candidate is employed at the time of application).
  • Surety Bond Signed by the Candidate, on ₹100 Non-Judicial Stamp Paper, to Work on Contractual Basis With the Sports Authority of India or a Designated Organisation for a Period of 3 Years (in the prescribed format).

The applicant should ensure the application is submitted well before the time of the scheduled meeting of the Designated Committee, and not later than the 20th day of the preceding month of the scheduled meeting. Applications and proposals received on or before the 20th day of the preceding month, and complete in all respects, are first placed before the Appraisal Committee for examining the eligibility and technical aspects.
