About This Scheme

The scheme "Financial Assistance for Ex-Servicemen in Penury" has been implemented by the Kendriya Sainik Board (KSB), Government of India. It is aims to provide a measure of relief to destitute non-pensioner Ex-Servicemen (ESM) up to the rank of Havildar/equivalent and their widows. Through this scheme, financial assistance in the form of a monthly grant is provided to eligible beneficiaries. The scheme is implemented by the Kendriya Sainik Board (KSB) through Zila Sainik Welfare Offices (ZSWO).

One-time grant of ₹30,000/- at age 70/75 years (2007 revision).

₹1.0K · monthly

₹1,000/- per month for lifetime (October 2011 revision).

1. Conditions Associated with Benefits

Applicable only to non-pensioner ESM up to the rank of Havildar/equivalent.

Continued for the widow after the death of the ESM (subject to a fresh application in some cases).

Non-transferable.

Ceases upon the death of the beneficiary (ESM or widow).

Service Document/Discharge Book of ESM (Mandatory to upload all pages of Discharge Book in a sequential manner without missing any pages and without any alterations). The pages uploaded must be in a legible condition. Any cutting/overwriting in discharge book must be authenticated by the DSWO. Signatures and Stamp marks of any other authority except DSWO will render the entry null and void.

First page of Bank Pass book and a cancelled cheque in case details of Bank A/c Number, IFS Code and account holder’s personal particulars are not given in first page of Bank Pass book.
