The scheme aims to encourage sports across the country by strengthening sports infrastructure, coaching, talent development, and sports academies, thereby promoting excellence in sports and holistic development of children and youth.

- Need-based financial support for recurring and non-recurring expenditure.
- Support available for up to 3 "One State One Game" disciplines and sports science facilities.
- Funding amount determined through viability gap assessment.
- Support for coaches, support staff, sports science services, and sports equipment.
- Annual recurring grant of up to ₹5,00,000/- per discipline.
- ₹3,00,000/- per year earmarked for remuneration of Past Champion Athletes at ₹25,000/- per month.
- Support for sports equipment, sports kits, competition exposure, physiotherapists, and recurring expenditure.
- Support for repair and maintenance and beneficiary-related expenses.
One-time grant of up to ₹5,00,000/- per discipline.
Assistance for preparation or upgradation of sports fields.
Assistance for purchase of sports equipment and sports kits.
Other Residential Centres:- Grants-in-aid for boarding expenses.
- Support for education expenses.
- Support for competition exposure.
- Support for consumable sports equipment.
- Funding capped at ₹1,50,000/- per trainee per year, subject to revision by the Departmental Project Approval Committee (DPAC).
- Need-based support for establishment, operation, and maintenance.
- Support for recurring and non-recurring expenditure.
- Support for engagement of High-Performance Directors, coaches, foreign coaches, sports scientists, and support staff.
- Support for monitoring and performance measurement systems.
- Support for sports science and sports medicine facilities.
- Support for equipment and critical infrastructure requirements.
- Sports coaching and education through e-Khel Pathshala.

How to Apply
Step 1: The State or Union Territory Government invites applications or identifies eligible facilities, as applicable.
Step 2: The applicant submits the prescribed proposal through the designated authority.
Step 3: The State or Union Territory Government scrutinizes and shortlists eligible proposals.
Step 4: The shortlisted proposals are forwarded to the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports.
Step 5: The Project Appraisal Committee examines and evaluates the proposals.
Step 6: Eligible proposals are recommended to the Departmental Project Approval Committee for approval.
Step 7: Site inspections, verification, and viability gap assessments may be conducted where applicable.
Step 8: Funding requirements are finalized and approved by the competent authority.
Step 9: The Ministry issues the sanction order and releases financial assistance to the approved implementing agency.
