About This Scheme

The Chief Minister’s Green Taxi Scheme, part of the CM-ELEVATE Program by the Planning, Investment Promotion & Sustainable Development Department, Government of Meghalaya, promotes clean mobility and green entrepreneurship in the Greater Shillong Planning Area (GSPA). The scheme targets pollution reduction, electric vehicle adoption, and support for individuals, SHGs, and cooperatives. Entrepreneurs can receive up to 50% financial support on a vehicle’s on-road cost—5% by the entrepreneur and 45% by the Government—including EMI subsidy, branding assistance, and scrappage incentives. Implemented by the Urban Affairs Department with loans facilitated by partner banks, the scheme covers select Tata EV models with a ₹5 lakh subsidy cap.
